Greater Chicago, IL - Loyola Medicine (Loyola) and Loyola Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) seek a transformative and forward-thinking leader to advance the program as the next Chief, Division Gastroenterology and Nutrition (GI). The Chief will also serve as the Co-Director of the Digestive Health Service Line. In partnership, this individual will provide leadership, strategy, and oversight of digestive health care for the health enterprise. This is a unique leadership position to lead a prominent program, recruit and expand the team to broaden its impact on the health of the communities across the Chicago metropolitan region.

Loyola is an academic health enterprise and a member of Trinity Health, a nationally recognized healthcare system. Loyola is anchored by the 547-licensed bed Loyola University Medical Center with a Level I Trauma Center, Illinois' largest Burn Center, Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine, Comprehensive Stroke Center, the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, a children's hospital, and the Loyola Outpatient Center. The System also includes two high-quality community hospitals: Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital, as well as a vast ambulatory network. The SSOM is committed to integrating education, research, and service in the development of future physicians and researchers.

The Division of GI at Loyola stands as a pillar of excellence in gastrointestinal care, research, and education. The division offers comprehensive services spanning from routine endoscopic procedures to advanced treatments for complex gastrointestinal disorders. Candidates must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school, current board certification in gastroenterology, eligibility for licensure in Illinois, and appropriate academic qualifications for appointment at the minimum rank of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be an accomplished physician leader with a clinical practice, experience in developing faculty and leading clinical programs in a complex setting and a record of innovative and effective administrative experience. The Chief will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to promoting a diverse academic environment.
