Assignment:
Part time, days, evenings and weekend options, 2-10 classes per season
(Spring/Summer, Fall, Winter)

Wages:
starting at $14.25

Primary Objective of Position:
To assist the Instructor in enrichment and/or recreation classes and activities for adults with intellectual, developmental, sensory, cognitive and physical disabilities. To help ensure a safe and fun atmosphere for all participants.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide assistance to the Project SOAR instructor in art, crafts, cooking, recreation, or leisure classes/activities, that are specially designed and adapted to the individual abilities of Project SOAR participants.
  2. Work directly and independently with the class participants and assist them with the activities.
  3. Provide a safe, caring, and fun environment for participants.
  4. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  5. Communicate with instructor about duties during class and understanding of class schedule and tasks.

Job Qualifications:
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Evidence of successful experience working with persons with disabilities.
  3. Evidence of positive interpersonal skills; ability to relate well to adults with special needs.
  4. Compassion for and understanding of adults with disabilities.
  5. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  7. Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.
