Part time, days, evenings and weekend options, 2-10 classes per season
(Spring/Summer, Fall, Winter)
Wages:
starting at $14.25
Primary Objective of Position:
To assist the Instructor in enrichment and/or recreation classes and activities for adults with intellectual, developmental, sensory, cognitive and physical disabilities. To help ensure a safe and fun atmosphere for all participants.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to the Project SOAR instructor in art, crafts, cooking, recreation, or leisure classes/activities, that are specially designed and adapted to the individual abilities of Project SOAR participants.
- Work directly and independently with the class participants and assist them with the activities.
- Provide a safe, caring, and fun environment for participants.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Communicate with instructor about duties during class and understanding of class schedule and tasks.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Evidence of successful experience working with persons with disabilities.
- Evidence of positive interpersonal skills; ability to relate well to adults with special needs.
- Compassion for and understanding of adults with disabilities.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.
