Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

-On a medium to large (PFE Tier I - -$250m) job, performs the duties of a lead engineer in either an area, coordinating and directing a variety of disciplines, or as a Project Field Engineer, coordinating all activities related to the operation of assigned operating section. 
-Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback 
-Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.  
-Coordinates with design on constructability issues.  
-Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.  
-Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.  
-Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 
-Possesses responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE. 
-Reviews and approves inspection test plans, 
-Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals 
 

Education and Experience Requirements:

-Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
-Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
-Experience in the design and/or construction of LNG facilities is preferred.
-Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, Agile, UPV, TEAMWorks, and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset.
-Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheet and database applications.
-Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
-Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
