Registered Nurse- Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy

Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligations to provide optimal procedural care.
The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction.
Delivers and manages the care of patients undergoing therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy/bronchoscopy procedures including both inpatients and outpatients.
Assesses the patients physical and mental status prior to procedures, educates on procedural and post-procedural care, and documents responses to interventions, findings, and reports any changes.
Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families.
Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patients.
Brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
Functions in many roles and may include, pre-procedure assessments, post procedural recovery, and assisting physicians during procedures.
Maintains proficiency on the maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of endoscopy/bronchoscopy specific equipment.
Recognizes changes in patient care situations and initiates appropriate emergency situations.
Adapts to changes in daily schedule.
