About Car Team at Expedia
The Expedia Car team builds the experience and platform that powers the Car rental business for multiple brands within Expedia Group. The Car's platform supports millions of users every year in finding a suitable rental car using technologies such as Java, Spring, ReactJS, MSSQL, DynamoDB, Redis at scale powered by AWS. We encourage experiments in new technologies while keeping a healthy balance between short-term and long-term goals. We deeply care about building an outstanding experience to delight our customers.

What you’ll do:
We’re looking for a Back-End or Full Stack Engineer who loves working with technology, has experience building scalable and robust solutions and can contribute significantly to our framework/platform. You will work with a hardworking group of engineers, architects, and product managers to build new and innovative features for our travel platform.

Own design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational excellence and support for mid to large-scale projects.

Be part of a dynamic, continuously delivering team using Agile development process.

Contribute towards and support multiple backend-end teams in the design and development of elegant applications and services.

Implement features for Expedia in Java, Spring-boot, Kotlin, GraphQL and related technologies.

Collaborate with User Experience, Test, and Technical Product management and multi-functional teams to deliver features.

Who you are:
BS and/or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

2+ years of software development experience.

Solid understanding of web development tools and programming languages.

Excellent verbal and written skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas.

Ability to write clean, coherent code and follow established coding conventions.

Proficiencies: Object-oriented programming, Java, REST API, Docker, Kafka, GraphQL, Design/Architectural Patterns, Service Oriented Architecture, Distributed System Design.

Experience at other fast-paced Internet companies, especially Travel companies, is a big plus.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
