Guy Metals, part of Ryerson family companies, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician position. As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for providing day-to-day support of operations through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and review of equipment failures.

This position is 1st shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 6:00 am: 2:30pm, The operating hours may vary depending on the projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for greasing, oiling, general maintenance of heavy equipment and various other machines
* Ensure operation and control down time of machinery and equipment by following preventative and predictive maintenance plans
* Troubleshoot, repair, modify and rebuild mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components
* Replacing faulty electrical components on machines such as relays, switches and motors
* Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:
* High school or GED required
* 1-3 Years of mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred
* Heavy machinery experience a plus
* PLC experience is a plus
* Attention to detail and safety is a must
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Will train driven individuals with existing light maintenance background
