Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical blueprints, conduit installation, and electrical inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems
  • Requisition and control electrical/electronic spare parts inventory
  • Coordinate and carry out electrical inspections
  • Work with electrical blueprints to install conduit, conduit fittings circuits, outlets, load centers, and panel boards
  • Interpret specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties
  • Maintain knowledge and application of complex electronic devices such as variable speed drives and programmable controllers
  • Use various electrical test equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot logic and PLC-based software systems
  • Troubleshoot extended relay logic controls
  • Complete advanced training classes for PC controllers, variable frequency drives, and relay logic
  • Apply National Electrical Code, State, Local building codes when installing equipment
  • Use various electrical test equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
  • Connect various types of motors, transformers, and circuit breakers
  • Understand the needs of the business unit(s) for which development work is being performed
  • Possess understanding of bulk handling operations/equipment
  • Conduct LOTO operations and complete associated documents
  • Perform PMs and work orders generated from our MMS (Maximo)
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license
  • Willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment
  • Successful completion of any required Kinder Morgan specific safety training
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes
  • Strong communication skills
  • General understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes relate to the material handling business segment, associated business units, and internal and external customers
  • Ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
