Data Center Concierge IIIJob Summary
The Data Center Concierge supports data center operations through semi-routine tasks following standard operating procedures. They provide administrative support, handle customer inquiries, coordinate visits, and ensure positive customer experiences on-site. The role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to maintain detailed records.
Responsibilities
Administration
- Provide support to data center facilities with semi-routine administrative duties.
- Follow standard procedures for answering incoming phone calls.
- Review and respond to semi-routine work request systems (e.g., dispatch, updates).
- Support customers by coordinating visits and schedules in the data center; assist with semi-routine inquiries and issues.
- Maintain conference room and tour schedules while customers are on-site.
- Coordinate activities with the Equinix Response Center (ERC) as needed.
- Keep records of activities within the data center, including circuit inventories, installed power inventories, and labor hours expended.
- Generate purchase requisitions and coordinate with vendors for delivery and invoicing.
- Assist with special projects as required.
Customer Support
- Communicate semi-routine operating data center procedures to on-site customers, fostering positive customer relationships.
- Coordinate semi-routine customer work visits with security and escort customers and/or vendors as needed.
- Track, follow up, and report on semi-routine customer inquiries and issues while customers are on-site, identifying potential trends.
- Address semi-routine work visit tickets in the system.
- Provide general induction learning tours to new customers to orient them to the site.
- Direct customers throughout the facilities as needed.
Onsite Customer Liaison
- Support the coordination of tasks to appropriate cross-functional teams.
- Maintain positive business relationships with local vendors to support customers' administrative needs, providing information upon request.
- Send customer data center templates via phone, email, and/or printouts.
- Maintain customer care areas/conference rooms for cleanliness and ensure amenities are fully stocked; provide backup coverage to cross-functional teams for inventory ordering.
- Partner with teams to track customer shipments when on-site.
- Use developing knowledge to discern customer satisfaction-related issues and escalate appropriately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and 1-2 years of equivalent work experience.
