This person will maintain accounts and financials according to standards and will ensure availability of accounting information for management, such as P&L statements, general ledgers, and financial transactions. The selected individual will apply accounting techniques and standard practices & accounting procedures to classify, record & report on financial transactions. The selected accountant will receive guidance and direction from their manager & other accounting professionals but will also solve straightforward accounting problems and analyze possible solutions using standard accounting policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable function (including keying and paying invoices via wires, checks, ACH and associated accounting)

  • Daily Bank verifications to endure timely recording of transactions

  • Record day-to-day journal entry transactions and recurring/monthly entries

  • Processing timesheets for Non-exempt employees and reviewing and preparing bi-weekly Business unit journal entries, as well as calculating month-end accruals.

  • Fixed asset and other general accounting

  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Processing expense reports and related accounting

  • Ensure compliance with all Company & Financial Reporting policies and internal controls

  • Account analysis to understand fluctuations

  • Answer and resolve questions on the accounts with management

  • Timely reporting during month end closing

  • Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in line with skills and experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

  • Attention to detail with accuracy is a must

  • Self starter

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Software, specifically strong Excel and Access skills and ERP systems

  • Office, Lab and Manufacturing environments.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
