What will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will develop and implements strategies to provide non-Stafford Act staffing support to DHS and other Federal agencies under Presidential Policy Directive 44 (PPD-44); and to recruit, roster, train, and deploy members from DHS components and Other Federal Agencies to assist FEMA in delivering the federal response. . Typical assignments include:
Leading and mentoring a team of specialists tasked with supporting the agency's incident workforce, including developing and implementing staffing processes, trainings, and deployment procedures. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to identify staffing requirements and providing guidance about complex, unusual, or unprecedented emergency response initiatives. Collecting information and preparing reports on staffing operations and developing executive summaries, briefings, presentations, and talking points for senior leadership.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

Key Requirements: You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. Selective Service registration required. Qualifications
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Leading teams or monitoring the execution of work assignments or performance of personnel. Building or maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders to develop goals or outcomes. Interpreting or analyzing operational conditions to generate possible solutions for recommendation. Developing and implementing policies and processes related to the agency's incident workforce.
