Physician (Cardiologist)

DUTIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Provide quality cardiovascular consultation services, patient screening, surveillance, and management of diseases according to VA national guidelines.
Participation in General Cardiology related research will comprise 60% of duty time. Teaching, education and supervision of trainees and Fellows will comprise 40% of duty time.
Perform standard diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures temporary pacing and permanent device (Pacemakers, Loop recorders, AICD and bi-ventricular devices) implantation, direct current cardioversions.
Interpret echocardiograms (including stress, dobutamine and transesophageal echocardiograms), Holter monitor studies, event recorder studies, EKGs, stress tests.
Complete timely medical records documentation in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws for history and physical exams within 24 hours of admission, progress notes for each encounter, new or renewal of prescriptions, transfer summaries and/or discharge instructions.
Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews, promote performance improvement to meet organizational goals, conduct point of care audits and peer reviews when requested by Chief of Medicine.
Serve as a leader on Medical Center committees and attend Medical Service Staff meetings.
Maintain Board Certification and University affiliation with faculty status to serve as attending to Cardio Fellows.

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
