Our Technology Consulting EHR Services practice continues to grow our comprehensive services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology, and operations teams. EHR Services Testing Coordinator will work on varying projects within our practice. The Testing Coordinator will scope, plan, oversee and document all testing and business requirements, testing, run and configure reports. Our Testing Coordinator demonstrate knowledge of core technology principles and provide exemplary customer service that continues to position Optum as a center of excellence for technology consulting and related EHR services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide product testing expertise and experience for clinical/pharmacy product development project
  • Collaborate with end users and product development team to create testing scenarios in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements in testing environment as required
  • Lead small to medium complexity software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases
  • Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation for testing requirements, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
  • Provide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to encompass all testing scenarios for products and integration within an EHR
  • Develop, support, and maintain all required testing scripts and other system documentation.
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in testing environment
  • Actively participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle and perform unit, system, negative, and integrated testing tasks, and activities for product workflow
  • Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of software functionality; acquire and utilize knowledge of operational workflows to be implemented
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with product software
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application/product specific training curriculum and materials
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to specifications prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to testing scripts; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Develop solid relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of healthcare experience
  • 3+ years of experience writing test scripts and test cases
  • 3+ years of experience translating business requirements into functional specifications, implementing updates and requested changes to testing scripts
  • Experience in all phases of the testing lifecycle and perform unit, system, negative, and integrated testing tasks, and activities for product workflow
  • Experience with testing new releases; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users
  • Experience working and configuring new technology platforms
  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working and configuring EHR software (Epic or Oracle Health)
  • Experience in systems and workflows for medication processing, adherence, and overall pharmacy workflows
  • Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
