  • Patient Interaction and Comfort:

    • Greet and welcome patients at the start of their dental journey.
    • Ensure patient comfort throughout their treatment.
    • Provide appropriate education to patients regarding their treatment and dental health.

  • Health History Review:

    • Conduct a thorough review of each patient's health history to ensure quality care and to identify any potential issues that could affect treatment.

  • Diagnostic Assessments:

    • Take and process x-rays.
    • Perform other diagnostic assessments using tools such as the iTero 3D scanner and digital photography.

  • Chairside Assistance:

    • Provide superior chairside assistance to dentists, including four-handed dentistry.
    • Assist during a wide variety of dental procedures as per the state dental practice act.

  • Use of Dental Software:

    • Utilize Dentrix software for patient scheduling and clinical charting.

  • Treatment Room Preparation:

    • Prepare the treatment room before patient appointments.
    • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and follow OSHA and CDC recommendations.

  • Supply and Inventory Management:

    • Manage supply and inventory levels.
    • Place and expedite orders as needed to ensure the office is well-stocked.

  • Collaboration and Workflow Optimization:

    • Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems.
    • Work towards maximizing office workflow and efficiency.

Required Experience:

  • EFDA program completion, or one year of on the job trained experience
  • Indiana Radiology License 
  • Proficiency in dental procedures and terminology
  • Familiarity with dental software, such as Dentrix

Necessary Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities and a patient-centered approach
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Capability to manage patient flow efficiently throughout the office

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to satisfactorily perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties
  • Extended periods of sitting and standing
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds occasionally
  • Availability to participate in virtual (or in-person) training sessions periodically throughout the year
