Actuarial Analyst III

Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process.

The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
  • Use analytical tools to perform sophisticated analysis to set unpaid claim reserves for Medicaid business.
  • Explain drivers of results and financial impacts to leadership & business partners.
  • Improve analytical reporting to provide additional insights and increase efficiency.
  • Complete regulatory reporting.
  • Assists in training of actuarial analysts.
  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.


Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and knowledge of SQL.
  • Valuation experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel


For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $96,800.00 to $158,400.00
