Position Overview: We are a leading apparel company that sells high quality products in multiple categories with a primary focus on women’s and men’s clothing. The Senior Technical Designer will be the gatekeeper of all aspects of technical design. Ability to create production specific technical packages in Excel format.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating accurate detailed technical packages with construction, specs, fit comments that meet brand requirements. Create consistency between factories regarding fit and make.
- Strong pattern making skills and confident providing accurate fit direction with specific pattern corrections to factories.
- Proficient in garment construction, sewing, factory processes, especially suited for high end and mid-tier markets.
- Lead fit sessions with live models. Proactively identify and communicate fit issues and provide solutions.
- Ability to lead, mentor other technical designers with fit corrections / construction.
- Performs other technical design duties as assigned.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Has at least 10 years’ experience in Women's / Men’s Tailored Jackets, Pants, Dresses and Sportswear.
- Strong Patternmaking/ pattern correction experience a must.
- Problem Solver who can operate independently and work effectively, while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills while working on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Detail-oriented and possess organizational skills; ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy. Able to work independently with little direction and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and computer skills. Excel is a must, Outlook, Word, Illustrator.
- Plus, and Petite experience is a plus.
