Gyotaku Japanese Restaurants is now hiring for Line Cooks and Sushi Makers.  We offer competitive pay and paid training with opportunity for advancement.  Gyotaku Line Cooks and Sushi Makers have a light prep routine due to our central kitchen which prepare sauces, entree portions and other prep, fresh every day allowing them to focus on preparing great meals in a team environment. Sushi Maker Pay Grades (Plus approx $1 to $3 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts)
  • Sushi III - Trainee through ability to work maki rollling station expertly $14 - $17/hr.
  • Sushi II - Ability to work maki and nigiri stations expertly $17 - $19/hr.
  • Sushi I - Ability to work maki, nigiri, fish cutting stations expertly $19 - $24/hr.
Daily Work Routine
  • Participate in and maintain a positive, professional, team oriented work environment.
  • Be focused on exceeding guest expectations of a great meal experience.
  • Production of prep recipes and menu items for guests according to production forms and recipe cards.
  • Maintaining an organized clean and sanitary work station.
  • Coordination of duties and products with the other kitchen stations.
  • Follow company, Serve Safe & State Dept of Health best practices for food safety & hygiene.
