The Supervisory Psychologist for whom this functional statement applies is under the Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service located at the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System
(WPBVAHCS ). Duties includes providing clinical and programmatic supervision for MHICM/ e-Range/ PRRC programs. The goal of the programs are to provide intensive clinical case management services to Veterans who have chronic, severe and persistent psychiatric illnesses, who need high numbers of inpatient mental health services, and may be homeless or at risk for homelessness. The programs utilize a multidisciplinary treatment team approach and clinicians serve as the primary outpatient psychiatric providers/case managers for the veterans in the program. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to;
Serves as the Program Manager to the MHICM / e-RANGE / PRRC with responsibility of the day-to-day operations to the MHICM / e-RANGE / PRRC programs ensuring that all scheduled programming occurs and is high-quality.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory and reporting entities including CARF, NEPEC, and Joint Commission.
Functions as a champion and advocate for the provision of recovery oriented services to Veterans participating in MHICM / e-RANGE / PRRC programs.
Will be responsible for managing the consult/referral process and marketing the program to the other mental health programs at the Medical Center.
Maintains competency as a Supervisor for MHICM/e-Range/PRRC through continuing education and other activities as required for the position and their licensure.
Responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with relevant line and supervisory staff in other Services/Programs within the Medical Center.
Establishes performance management and performance improvement in MHICM / e-RANGE / PRRC regarding access, efficiency, effectiveness, timeliness, and quality of services provided in relevant programs.
Provides a full range of psychological services for Veterans with serious mental illness including bio-psychosocial assessment; interdisciplinary treatment planning; psychosocial case management; discharge planning coordination; health care coordination; individual, as well as family and group therapy.
Provides recovery coaching, crisis intervention; development of daily living skills; advocacy and referral; VA benefits counseling and referrals; identification of and services to homeless Veterans; assistance in applying for Social Security and Medicaid and any other appropriate benefits; assistance with legal problems; and community referrals.
Develops strategic plans, program policies, operations, staffing needs, and discusses employee and program issues and concerns in conjunction with the Program Manager and MH&BS leadership.
Provides clinical supervision to psychology interns on their minor rotation in any of the MHICM / e-RANGE / PRRC programs.
Represents the Medical Center at professional/program community group/events and committees. May be called upon to participate in "Outreach" programs to veterans in the community.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule
: The primary tour of duty will be M-F 7:30am to 4pm. However, the selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on the needs of the service and patient care.

Pay:
Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).


Paid Time Off:
37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)


Parental Leave:
After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.


Child Care Subsidy:
After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66
