Description

SAIC is looking for an Automation Specialist who is a pro with scripting and configuration management tools and languages like Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell. This person should have an automation mindset with the aptitude to automate anything and everything - from day-to-day operations, to building automation pipelines, to host services on premise and in the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). We are looking for a consummate "Platform/Infrastructure-as-a-Service" expert with at least 10 years of functional experience. This role requires deep understanding of all aspects of application hosting, from an F5/load balancer to a database and everything in between.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Platform Services team, this role requires superior technical competency in design, development, and modification of code to deliver on-premise and cloud infrastructure needs (primarily AWS) resulting in Platform/infrastructure as code (PaaS/IaaS) deliveries.
  • Responsible for translating design decisions and architecting designs to code for continuous deployment and repeatability. Leverage the latest DevOps and Cloud automation tools such as AWS/Azure Resource Manager templates and Azure PowerShell, Terraform and Ansible.
  • Utilize Ansible, Salt Stack, Python, Terraform Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions to deploy cloud solutions. Will be responsible for leading the team's coding practices and release management.
  • Participate in regular sprints and releases. Ensure automation user stories are part of everyday delivery.
  • Collaborate with other passionate individuals on automation strategy and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, BA's, Platform Engineering and Product teams for delivering Infrastructure as code.
  • Work within a project management/Agile Scrum team in a leading role. Utilize Agile and DevOps processes and principles, craft CI/CD pipelines, convert builds to use custom and cloud-native build and release pipelines.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of industry standard practices and have a thorough understanding of networking concepts.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 14 years of overall experience.
  • 8-10 years of functional experience in Platform/Infrastructure Master Solution Architecture; experience architecting all aspects of Platform computing (compute, storage, platforms, data, load balancing, observability, and security).
  • Hands on experience in cloud computing-based services architecture, technical design, and implementations, including IaaS and PaaS.
  • Experience with popular cloud technologies like AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Experience deploying applications on-premises and in cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP and also Hybrid.
  • Proficiency with OpenSource and IBM/RedHat Middleware Stack like WildFly, JBOSS, ActiveMQ, FUSE, CAMEL etc., is an added advantage.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance based on USPTO regulations
      • Candidates must have lived in the United States for the last 2 years consecutively
