SUMMARY
The Franke CAD/BIM Supervisor will lead, mentor, and develop entry-level BIM design team members. In this role, they will create, maintain, monitor, and verify BIM libraries, templates, workflows, standards. Other duties will include performing quality control across a wide range of company deliverables, including BIM libraries, department drawings and documentation, project BIM models, and equipment sales quotations and contracts. The BIM Lead will also regularly create project deliverables for all types of projects and company activities, including restaurant layouts, MEP trade coordination, and concept engineering, while working with internal and external project stakeholders to stay aligned with day-to-day BIM department activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Train and oversee day-to-day activities of CAD Designer I team members.
• Creates and maintains Franke Revit project templates.
• Creates and maintains Franke Revit family libraries.
• Provide quality control reviews and reports on drawings, models, and account contracts on a regular basis.
• Create, develop, and maintain training resources to support Revit and AutoCAD training, and development plans.
• Reports regularly to leadership on CAD Designer I KPIs, skills assessments, development plans, and career intentions
• Creates CAD Designer I career development plans, both generic and tailored to specific individuals.
• Troubleshoot problems in BIM environment related to day-to-day work.
• Assists in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards.
• Deliver regular CAD and Revit and design training to the team, both one-on-one and in a team setting
• Technical liaison of kitchen equipment, kitchen layouts, and kitchen operations for external contractors, installers, architects, and MEP engineers
• Interacts regularly and effectively with Design team.
• Assists with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding CAD Designer Is
• Assists with BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement.
• Execute drawing and modeling work on all Franke accounts and drawing types on a regular basis in order to stay up to date with current standards, expectations, and workflows, and in order to identify gaps and opportunities within these workflows
• Automates tedious and repetitive workflow tasks to support and enhance standardization and productivity.
• Auditing and improving existing processes and documentation for day-to-day work processes (SOPs, Wis, QC processes, etc.)
• Stay informed on best practices and new trends, specifically of Revit, BIM, and laser scanning.
• Strategically evaluate and introduce new BIM related software and technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Computer Skills - Working knowledge of general Microsoft Windows based PC terminology, navigation, tools, and systems, Microsoft Windows 10 proficiency required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Expert level working knowledge of BIM and CAD design software Autodesk PDM and AEC Collections, including Dynamo visual programming language. Basic level understanding of laser scanning and point clouds, and the systems and processes for successfully working with these data capturing methods is required. Preferred basic working knowledge of Vray and Adobe Design Suite preferred but not required.
• Advanced Design Practices - Operational knowledge of restaurant procedures and practices, and the equipment and skills necessary to perform typical tasks in a restaurant. Ability to recognize and implement labor saving designs and reduce ergonomic risk factors. Ability to read and understand blueprints, specification sheets, and technical documents related to product information. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, 2D and 3D drawings and 3D models.
• Advanced MEP Design Practices - Knowledge of utility requirements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVACR, gas, and other building systems in domestic and international configurations. Intermediate level ability to recognize utility requirements and perform load calculations of these trades.
• Advanced Engineering Practices - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Intermediate Project Management Practices - Relies on experience and intuition to manage multiple workloads at a departmental level, assigning projects based on team member’s skill set and areas of expertise. Maintains open communication channels and reporting practices to management about department workload, challenges, and project lead times. Presents projects to department team members as challenges to current skills for development and coaching.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Associate Degree
• 4-6 year experience;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Autodesk Revit 2021 Certified Professional certification preferred, but not required.
• Autodesk Inventor 2021 Certified Professional certification preferred, but not required.
