Submarine Maintenance Coordinator

Amentum is looking for personnel experienced in submarine maintenance to provide technical and administrative support as a Submarine Maintenance Coordinator (SMC).

The selected candidates shall perform the following tasks:

  • Onboard integration and work control support of availabilities, Hydraulic Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E), and Combat Control Communication Compliance Intelligence (C5I) alteration preparation and installation

  • Availability planning and maintenance/modernization support

  • Assisting ship’s force and maintenance/modernization providers in advanced planning

  • Development of integrated availability work packages and production schedules

  • Identifying critical path jobs and development of work sequence schedules

  • Process Memorandums of Agreement in support of work during availabilities

  • Liaise with the Lead Maintenance Activity (LMA), integrate work control priorities and total effort into pier side availability work schedules

  • Liaise with maintenance organizations to integrate work schedules and installation support requirements

  • Liaise with ship’s force to resolve issues related to maintenance/modernization and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) installations

  • Provide consolidated status reports for ongoing activities

  • Evaluate, coordinate, and manage submarine maintenance by using the local integrated technology systems

  • Collect and distribute “lessons learned”, develop and incorporate process improvements as appropriate

  • Attend LMA production and planning meetings as required

  • Attend and prepare for conferences as required such as Alteration Installation Team (AIT) and Maintenance/Modernization Conferences, Hydraulic Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) Conferences, Top Management Attention (TMA), etc.

Minimum requirements:

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least Six (6) years of full-time engineering experience in the fire control, weapons, acoustics, communications, and navigation subsystems and/or equipment of a Submarine Combat System, or a computerized and/or computer-controlled combat system that closely resembles the AN/BQQ-10, AN/BYG1, AN/BLQ-10 systems in complexity, operation, maintenance approach, and installation; or Six years full-time engineering experience in the support of all sub-systems onboard submarines in the HM&E disciplines. Possess the qualifications in the operation, maintenance approach, and installation for installing and removing mechanical equipment components, foundations, bulkheads, hatches, cable runs, and piping for air, water systems, chill water, ventilation, and hydraulic systems.

  • GENERAL EXPERIENCE: At least Eight (8) years of full-time technical experience in an electrical/electronic field or HM&E field.

  • MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE: At least three (3) years of full-time experience in program management of a type and complexity equivalent to that necessary to support Advanced Submarine Systems Combat Control, Acoustic, Communication, Navigation programs, and HM&E programs. This experience cannot be concurrent with either the specialized or general experience.

  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
