In this position you will develop original designs, concepts, and visual styles for OI and CBP Intelligence Enterprise (IE) through publications, exhibits, presentations, and websites using various software design programs to deliver the intended message for multiple audiences and/or that reduce the cost of production, installation, or maintenance of a broad inventory of visual products.

This position starts at a salary of $82,764.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $107,590.00 (GS-11, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354 (GS-13 Step 10).

Major duties:
Developmening visual products for use in publications and presentations and/or depiction of intelligence related products. Incorporates communications and visual media, responsible for developing and coordinating the following (but not limited to): design, visual, and electronic media products; implementing a comprehensive visual information program in support of intelligence related topics on behalf of OI and the CBP Intelligence Enterprise (IE); and develops and implements state-of-the-art visual information products to convey intended message to both internal and external customers.
Ensuring clear communication and completion of visual products. Anticipates potential problems and develops more effective ways to complete the project. Provides guidance for the proper implementation of digital and multimedia policies and strategies. Encourages and engages in the development of innovative ideas to enhance organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Provides products and services that are professional, accurate, timely, objective, fact-based, and balanced.
Using a variety of technical equipment for graphic art production, visual information design, publication design, SharePoint design, and printing, employee completes handouts, charts, graphs, digital photographs, and web pages for display or reproduction purposes.
Interfacing daily with senior leaders for disseminating management and organizational concepts related to OI programs. Provides recommendations to leadership based on the evaluation of communication and engagement activities.
Updating SharePoint pages for OI and the CBP IE. Works closely with web coordinator and senior specialists to assist as needed. Uses a wide range of expertise, design ability, and communication skills along with their understanding of OI in the execution of designing and producing internal and external informational materials for SharePoint, Web and for print using CBP guidelines. Works closely with content providers and subject matter experts, as needed, to obtain content, graphics, or images, review raw content, recommend text modification, help determine the most appropriate methods for highlighting/enhancing the essence of the subject matter, and
offer alternatives that support and achieve desired layouts and designs.
Conceiving and producing a high volume of interrelated publications, and visual publications which are often designed as sequential or unified projects, such as a series of briefing presentation or exhibits with transitional subject matter or an exhibit with corresponding brochure. Helps determine the theme, message, design, format, and size of projects based on the complexity of the subject matter to be conveyed, availability of resources and material and support personnel, and the interest levels of the intended audience. Incumbent uses background and familiarity with all CBP regulations and copyright laws for presenting information and photos online.
