Reporting directly to the Director of Income / Property Tax, the Sr. Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for all state income tax matters, including accurate and timely tax return compliance, ASC 740 provision and audits. While the focus will be on state income taxes, the position will provide support on federal income tax matters as needed.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returnsPrepare and /or review quarterly estimated and year end extension paymentsAssist in quarterly and year-end tax provision in accordance with ASC 740-10Assist in income tax audits and respond to Information Document RequestsCalculate state tax apportionment and state modification adjustmentsRespond timely to notices from state tax jurisdictionsMonitor all technical developments in state tax law which impacts BJ’sResearch tax issues as they ariseReview quarterly income tax account reconciliationsSpecial projects as assigned


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum 4 - 6 years of corporate tax experienceCPA or MST strongly preferredIn depth understanding of corporate federal and state income tax laws and their application, including legislative changes and current developmentsSignificant experience in large corporation multi-state income tax return preparation and reviewProficient with RIA Checkpoint, SAP, Thomson OneSource (or similar), and Microsoft suiteExcellent communication, writing, tax research skills; strong multitasker, collaborative team player and problem solver


In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $80,000.00.
