Overview: ZF Test Systems develops and produces test benches for on- and off-road mobility. The Test Systems Business Unit is a special machine building branch within the ZF group, specialized in Test equipment design / installation / commissioning. With our North American Test System team, we are serving regional customers in providing turnkey Testing Solutions for their drivetrain and battery testing needs.  For more than 35 years we have been specialists for validation and development test facilities. 

 

Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and evaluation of project programs from initial conception to full execution for an array of different programs. These project and programs will center on the topic of customer capital equipment assembly, onsite installation and commissioning. This position oversees managing the design and development of projects from concept to after implementation evaluations while directing and steering team members (internal/ external) for successful completion of a project both within time and budgetary constraints.

 

What you can look forward to as a Project Manager:

  • Create & control documentation which instruct project management from headquarter, engineering, purchasing, service and other team functions on the project scope from customer PO to customer acceptance and handover to service.
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of arising issues on the customer side as well as on Test Systems side. Lead and direct the project and manage conflicts within the team/area.
  • Develop & maintain a roadmap for project controlling which incorporates local and global targets, goals for projects, as well as corporate initiatives in transforming the operations.
  • Facilitate/conduct project meetings regularly in conjunction with management, support staff, groups affected by the project and other pertinent personnel and be prepared to discuss updates on assigned tasks.
  • Promote cohesive project teams and encourage team members to participate/ contribute to the project success. First point of contact for customer as well as ZF project team members.
  • Routinely provide supervision of a project or multiple projects to achieve a cohesive vision.
  • Use program plans and other metrics to support project reviews with management.
  • Report status of Project(s) to Steering Committee/Management Team/Business Unit and implement actions to mitigate any risks to the project.

 

Your profile as a Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or comparable equivalent experience. 
  • 4+ years of experience in the field of Project Management within the production/ testing equipment industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, demanding environment. 
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management.
  • Solid organization and time/project management skills.
