Primary Purpose

Accounting Interns work in our dynamic Expenditure Accounting group and get practical accounting experience through leading task-oriented projects and supporting a broad set of departmental functions across the team.  As an Intern, you will join a diverse team of experienced professionals across our four functional groups: Accounts Payable, Capital Accounting, Payroll, and Miscellaneous Billing.

 

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, and other related fields

Technical Skills          

  • In depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Soft Skills

  • Self-starter committed to learning about the rail industry and accounting practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to manage time, plan, and prioritize work demands effectively
  • Positive and professional attitude

 

Work Conditions

Environment:   Hybrid (Two days in Office; three days remote)

Duration:         12 weeks

Travel Required: 0-2 Days per Month
