Education: Maritime Academy graduate with bachelor's degree in marine field or acceptable technical and educational experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

Summary:

The Security Manager is responsible for overseeing Fairwater's Security Program across the fleet. These responsibilities will include the management of the vessel's security plans and assessments as well as interacting with vessel's Flag States. This position will also serve as the Alternate Company Security Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of HSSQE/CSO in ensuring that the Company's Security Program is effectively implemented, understood, maintained, and remains in compliance with and certified by recognized authorities.
  • Serve as the vessels POC regarding Alternate Company Security Officer matters including ship security alert system tests and monitoring.
  • Develop and carry out security exercises with the fleet.
  • Liaise with customers on security related matters.
  • Coordinate with government agencies to provide additional security for the fleet as needed when operating in high-risk areas.
  • Work directly with IT and government agencies concerning Cybersecurity.
  • Understand organization dynamics and drive marine standards practices and processes that translate business strategies into appropriate actions to act as a change driver.
  • Maintain a good professional relationship as the point of contact with Recognized Security Organizations and the U.S. Coast Guard, working closely with them to assure continued compliance with the regulations.
  • Performs other position related duties as specified by management.
