The Associate Commissioner for Program Integrity (AC, OPI) is the senior executive responsible for providing centralized oversight of and accountability for the agency's anti-fraud and improper payments initiatives. The organization proactively manages fraud risks to facilitate, not hinder, the program's mission and strategic goals by ensuring that taxpayer dollars and government services serve their intended purposes. The organization also develops, coordinates, evaluates, and communicates agency-wide improper payments strategies.

Additionally, the AC, OPI:
Develops and implements the agency Anti-Fraud Framework and supports the operating model and workforce development initiatives.
Implements a fraud risk-management strategy consistent with established federal guidance that is designed to ensure program integrity by continuously and strategically mitigating the likelihood and impact of fraud.
Manages cross-component, prioritized anti-fraud initiatives, and functions as program liaison. This includes establishing common performance and outcome-based goals, and continuous monitoring of anti-fraud initiatives.
Develops anti-fraud data strategy and governance plans. Pursues external partnerships, as appropriate.
Operates enterprise-wide anti-fraud analytics and risk scoring solutions. This includes developing advanced analytical models and identifying new data sources and managing a proactive and preventive approach to detect and deter fraud to mitigate loss.
Leads investigation work, research, analysis, and evaluation of information to conduct, assist, and support comprehensive reviews of potential fraud.
Coordinates fraud referrals of potential fraud schemes and investigative activities with the Office of the Inspector General.
