The Division of Gastroenterology at Los Angeles General Medical Center is seeking a Gastroenterologist - Director of Hepatology.  The individual will take on a leadership role to redesign and optimize ambulatory and hospital care for patients with chronic liver disease in one of the largest public hospitals and medical training centers in the United States. The hepatology program at Los Angeles General Medical Center has a long, rich, and distinguished history with an international reputation for its contribution to modern hepatology by giants in the field including Drs. Telfer B. Reynolds and Allan Redeker.  While working alongside hepatologist at University of Southern California, the individual will be expected to provide ambulatory care, facilitate referral to local transplant centers, attend on the inpatient hepatology service, perform routine endoscopic procedures, conduct clinical research, and assist with teaching of fellows and residents. Individual will be assigned non-clinical time to perform administrative role and receive appointment at Keck School of Medicine of USC. There are excellent opportunities to make an impact by serving the LA population and develop a robust academic career.

 

**Position Requirements**

·         Candidate must have a primary clinical interest in non-transplant hepatology.

·         Candidates must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree.

·         Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and respective subspecialty.

·         Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

·         Candidates must have completed a fellowship.

·         Desire to practice at the nations’ largest teaching hospitals at a single site, which is conveniently located on a medical campus adjacent to downtown Los Angeles.

·         Desire for a rich clinical experience derived from the tremendous variety in pathology.

·         Passion for providing high quality clinical patient care to an underserved population.

·         Passion to teach and work with GI fellows, residents, and medical students. 

·         Interest in participating in scholarly activities.

·         Opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality initiatives, and hospital committees
