Description

The Purchasing Specialist manages the flow of supplies and specialty products to ensure materials are available for patient care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This is a full-time position working M-F between 6 am and 2:30 pm (schedule is flexible) and will be based out of Twin Cities Orthopedics/Plymouth Orthopedic Surgery Center in Plymouth, MN.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. We have a comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision Plan, Maternity Bundle, 401K with Profit Sharing, Tuition Reimbursement, Gym & Car Rental Discounts and more.

Essential Functions:

  • Continually monitors and manages inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for daily operations.
  • Manages the PO process, receiving, and replenishment of all supplies for the Center.
  • Identify, resolve, and communicate product availability issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates inventory management activities at the Center.
  • Assists with value analysis and product trials as requested by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Manages the SharePoint process for equipment and instruments for cases in conjunction with the OR Supervisor.
  • Oversees and coordinates physical inventory process at the sites.
  • Manages par areas within the Center and maintains accuracy in the inventory system.
  • Maintains accurate information within inventory and clinical systems.
  • Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds and less than 60. Able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds on a cart.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in materials management related position such as purchasing, inventory management, or hospital supply chain

Essential Requirements:

Ability to:

  • Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
  • Complete job required training.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Work in the surgery center during business hours
  • Travel independently throughout the surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
  • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other work locations, if required
