The Plaster School of Business (PSB) at Missouri Southern State University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting, with an expected start date of January 1, 2025, or August 1, 2025.
Duties:
Teach undergraduate accounting courses in financial accounting, audit, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and possibly other areas as identified by the department. There may be an opportunity to teach graduate courses.
Leverage a variety of emerging technologies.
Deliver courses through traditional, on-line, and alternative instructional methods.
Maintain an active research agenda that results in presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
Exhibit enthusiasm for engaging with and mentoring students.
Participate in service to the department, college, and broader university community, including engagement with the business and professional community.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates will possess an earned doctorate with a concentration in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited school by the first day of appointment. ABD candidates may be considered for a visiting position.
Demonstrated ability to work with and/or knowledge of diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
Related business experience
The PSB is accredited by ACBSP and is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation with 19 full-time faculty. Undergraduate programs include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, HR Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The PSB currently offers an MBA and M.S. in Data Analytics.
