  • Provide analytical support, technical expertise and guidance to business units across the Mortgage Group, driving global consistency and best practices.
  • Lead the production of regular risk and portfolio management assessments for the Mortgage Group, including stress testing, embedded value analyses and returns on equity and continuously strive to enhance quality and insightfulness of same.
  • Prepare risk and financial reporting dashboards and presentations for quarterly business review meetings and present timely insights and findings to Global Chief Actuary and other senior leaders as required.
  • Analyze and calculate capital requirements for the Segment under Rating Agency, Regulatory and internal capital consumption frameworks to support and influence the Mortgage Group's capital strategy and to fulfill external stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead analysis and research to enable optimal decision making around reinsurance purchasing.
  • Responsible for preparation of Mortgage Segment reserve reporting and supplementary risk and reserve disclosures as part of quarterly financial reporting process, while collaborating closely with Finance Function on other aspects of the financial reporting and financial planning process, as required.
  • Execute on the Mortgage Segment's Data Strategy, working closely with the Segment's Data Analytics team
  • Continuously develop and improve Management Information reporting tools, to increase efficiency and to bring new insights to senior management.
  • Keep abreast of mortgage lending industry developments including, regulatory, lenders, products and related economic issues.


Knowledge & Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of credit risk from an insurance and/or banking perspective.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, communication, data management and time management skills.
  • Fluency with Microsoft packages, at least one programming language such as SAS, SQL, Visual Basic, Python and database management systems such as SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI.
  • Abilility and desire to take ownership of own workload and work independently.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize demanding workload according to volume and urgency.


Education & Experience:
  • Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, finance, economics or actuarial science and a minimum of 6-8 years of mortgage/non-life (re)insurance or banking experience.
  • An Actuarial or CFA designation is not an absolute requirement, but candidates should be able to demonstrate very strong mathematical and analytical skills and experience relevant to the role.
