SUMMARY

Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous assembly and distribution of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

  • Provide leadership and interface throughout the company regarding ISO9001:2015 requirements, including representing the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing ISO9001 requirements.
  • Ensures that a quality system is established, implemented, and maintained according to the ISO9001 standard.
  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered or complaints received.
  • Reports on the performance of the quality system to general management for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
  • Interface with Engineering Services and Customer Service departments with customer complaints as an input to the problem-solving process.  Utilize and improve the effectiveness of the problem-solving process (root cause analysis and corrective action taken) throughout the organization.  Investigates and addresses customer and supplier complaints regarding quality.
  • Acts as a change agent within the facility. Facilitates improvements in processes.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and process or product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with operations management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Quality Management or related field from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience, 3+ years of management experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills required, ability to make difficult decisions and set the example for employees
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects with multiple work streams or departments to successful completion
  • Ability to identify and take the initiative to solve complex problems, work within deadlines with a high attention to detail, and to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong business acumen skills
  • Ability to influence and develop strong working relationships with colleagues, management, customers, vendors, suppliers, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation delivery
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Office
  • Experience with SAP warehouse management (WM)
  • Automotive aftermarket industry experience preferred
