What You Will Be Doing
• Monitor Bidding Opportunities & Manage the bid calendar
• Lead estimating efforts on small, medium & complex projects
• Provide conceptual estimates, detailed estimates, and detailed self-perform work estimates as needed
• Organize, research, and plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and final submission to the customer
• Thorough understanding of the Plans & Specs
• Identify potential risks/hazards
• Identify possible project schedule/coordination issues
• Solicit subcontractors
• Cultivate subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Determine pricing to be used in the final estimate
• Provide work assignments to the estimating team and ensure accurate estimating information provided is incorporated into final estimate
• Includes, but is not limited to: quantity surveys and cost estimates, subcontractor proposals, research on tax laws, permits, etc
• Attend pre-bid site visits
• Write and submit Pre-Bid RFIs
• Maintain regular interface and open communication
• Interface regularly with team members, owners, architects, and engineers to ensure a complete understanding of the project scope
• Ensure that team members, including subcontractors, understand initial project requirements and ongoing updates to those requirements
• Assist in project scheduling
• Lead estimate reviews with project leadership
• Lead team members
• Responsible for the direction, training, mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of estimators

What You Need for this Position
• 5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred
• Experience leading estimates on medium to large, complex commercial projects $10M +
• Federal contracting/estimating experience
• Strong conceptual estimating ability
• Applicable mathematical skills
• Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
• Experience with On-screen Takeoff technology is preferred
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• A current driver's license
