JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the direction of hourly and/or NES employees working in assigned areas of the plant; ensuring a safe work environment, an even flow of product through the area, and timely processing to specifications. This position is considered a developmental position and will require a detailed development plan to be achieved for this person to advance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•
Assists in supervising an effective team; includes learning to plan and hold meetings, manage staffing levels (including vacations, overtime, and leaves of absences); assisting with career development (motivates, coaches, and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation); and prioritizing and making work assignments.
•
Must learn to provide effective feedback to employees, both positive and negative. Maintains appropriate documentation for all disciplinary actions taken.
•
Completes work within cells to help teams achieve their takt time goals.
•
Assists in the training and orientation of employees to ensure quality, ENS expectations and ABS principles are known, understood and used to improve work performance, and acquaint employees with company policies and procedures.
•
Insure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
•
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operations, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
•
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
•
Promotes EHS and continuous improvement initiatives and culture.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Interacts with their employees and other department in order to manage the flow of product through the operation.
•
Maintains inventories, as applicable.
•
Creates a total awareness among assigned employees of Company policies, regulations, procedures, and business initiatives. Enforces compliance and acts as a positive resource for information and questions.
•
Responds to emergencies. Assists in troubleshooting production problems. Investigates and analyzes. Initiates or recommends actions to correct deviations and variables affecting schedules, costs, quality, and other factors.
•
Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
•
Prepares and analyzes documentation as required (i.e. production reports, log sheets, etc.)
•
Reviews work procedures for safety regulations and concerns.
•
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and material.
•
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
•
Complies with all ENS rules required for the work environment.
•
Participates in plant safety inspections and housekeeping audits.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Meets all requirements of a Level II position.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
3 years of NDT Level III Experience
•
NDT Level III experience and has Level III certification of NAS-410
•
BS in technical field
•
Aerospace experience
