The Sr Manager, Accounting role will lead all accounting, tax, reporting and compliance functions associated with Snapnrack, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunrun engaged in the business of manufacturing solar racking & mounting. The Sr. Manager will play a leading role in helping Snapnrack develop its own Accounting department and driving the process of decoupling Snapnrack’s accounting function from that of the parent entity. This will give the Sr. Manager significant scope and latitude to drive a vision for how Snapnrack should approach accounting, tax, reporting and compliance. This position will liaise cross functionally with relevant Sunrun teams, such as Accounting, Credit & Collections and Tax, as well as collaborating with other Snapnrack teams.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard/embed with Sunrun Accounting temporarily to fully understand Snapnrack’s Accounting needs and current setup in Oracle.

  • Lead the establishment of a separate Accounting department for Snapnrack, with assistance from Sunrun’s Accounting team.

  • Play a key role in transitioning Snapnrack’s accounting into Acumatica ERP, from the current Oracle ERP, including determining and communicating business requirements and performing user testing.

  • Manage all areas of accounting in the Acumatica ERP system, including but not limited to: Inventory/cost accounting, Revenue/COGS/Margin, OpEx/Departmental accounting, Payroll Processing and Journal Entry posting, Bank reconciliations / Cash Management / Treasury, Fixed Assets / Prepaids / Other General Ledger Accounting, monthly close process

  • Manage all compliance, including Income tax, Sales & Use Tax, and all registrations and filings.  Coordinate with external tax professionals as needed.

  • Lead Treasury, including banking relationship and cash needs/transfers to and from parent company.

  • Manage all SOX controls for SnapNrack

  • Work closely with Head of Strategy & Finance, Staff Sales Support Analyst and executive management to support Strategic Finance related activities (budget, forecast, variance analysis, reporting)

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to at least one junior accountant

Provide reporting and analysis to executive management and investors

Assist in departmental, resource and project planning

Other ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field

Minimum of 7 years experience with at least 2 years in a management role

CPA and public accounting experience; preferably from the Big 4

Solid understanding of GAAP; knowledge of lease accounting, partnership and fund accounting knowledge highly desirable

Ability to interpret complex structured finance models

Ability to prioritize and multi-task accordingly in a fast paced environment is required

Must be detailed-oriented and highly organized

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Acumatica ERP experience desirable

Expertise in Excel required

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:$115,608.15 to $154,144.20

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
