Job Overview: Rhode Island FC, a menâs professional soccer club competing in the USL Championship, is seeking passionate and motivated interns for the Fall 2024 season. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of our departments, including Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Sponsorship, and Ticketing. Interns will work closely with department leaders and staff to support day-to-day activities and special projects that are critical to the success of the club.

This position is a seasonal internship, with a projected start date of September 9, 2024. Internship positions are for college credit only.

Educational Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college/university bachelorâs degree program or higher.
  • Internship must be for college credit as part of the studentâs academic program.
Work Experiences:

  • Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with current technologies and social media platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Depending on the assigned department, duties may include:

Marketing:

  • Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Support social media content creation and management.
  • Assist in executing promotional campaigns and community outreach events.
  • Help track and analyze marketing performance metrics.
Operations:

  • Assist with the logistics and coordination of game day operations.
  • Support event planning and execution for club-related events.
  • Aid in managing equipment and facility needs for match days and training sessions.
  • Assist with player and staff transportation logistics.
Sponsorship:

  • Assist in maintaining relationships with current sponsors and partners.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of sponsorship proposals and presentations.
  • Assist with sponsor activation on game days and during special events.
  • Help track and report on sponsorship deliverables and outcomes.
Ticketing:

  • Assist with customer service and ticket sales operations.
  • Support group sales initiatives and outreach to local organizations.
  • Assist with the setup and management of ticketing systems on match days.
  • Aid in compiling reports and analyzing ticket sales data.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, particularly in roles that involve equipment handling.
  • Capability to walk, bend, stand, and reach throughout the workday/shift.
  • Must be able to participate in sustained activities for extended periods, including during match days and events.
