A leader in the energy industry (and very cool company to work for) has need for a Controller. This position has responsibilities for leading the accounting department and functions, including month-end close, WIP reporting and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a CPA, experience in public accounting, and a strong understanding of regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP. This Controller needs to be someone that is looking to take his or her career to new heights with this rapid growth company that operates in a great industry in multiple areas in the western US.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of actual monthly financial results compared to budgets, financial analysis and trends, and any other required information and analysis to assist the CFO, COO, and other senior executives.
  • Be the lead and point person with professional firms for quarterly reviews, annual financial audits, and related SEC filings ensuring compliance with all regulations without exception.
  • Departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement policies and procedures for the accounting group to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business - Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience in construction, technology, and/or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with Big 4 or similar national firm.
  • Public company experience as Corporate Controller.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Complete understanding of and adherence to regulatory agency requirements (SEC) and GAAP.
  • Tax reporting and analysis experience.
