What You’ll Do

  • Be a highly visible member of the Manufacturing Operations organization, responsible for driving data-driven decision making as well as supporting PLM processes at SimpliSafe.
  • Creatively represent data in a visual way to share the business story. Understand the internal customer needs and deliver dashboards to support their vision.
  • Influence leaders across multiple departments to make the decisions based on data.
  • Establish cadence for reporting and distributing of information in order to track progress of Manufacturing Operations team goals.
  • Build new data sets to support business decision making needs.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of existing data structures to assist with requested reporting needs or data questions.
  • Work across Engineering, Logistics, Finance and Manufacturing Operations teams to maintain data relevant to the SimpliSafe product lifecycle, from prototyping through product end of life.
  • Aid in the realization and acceleration of SimpliSafe’s product roadmap and sustaining engineering efforts.
  • Be a key contributor to all current and future system implementations & updates, to ensure there is a wide range of accurate PLM data.
  • Research and anticipate new technology to ensure our product development teams have the tools to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively. Research and analyze third party products and provide purchase recommendations.
  • Test and implement required system updates from Propel/Salesforce.
  • Train and troubleshoot for users (both internal and external).
  • Test and implement enhancements to support SimpliSafe processes.
  • Manage user license count and utilization.
  • Identify, direct, and implement projects that result in process improvement.
  • Assist with training for new hires.
  • Create new SKUs, documents, and BOMs.
  • Support Engineering teams in loading development BOMs for new product development builds.
  • Ensure accurate Mass Production BOMs are published.
  • Ensure Sustaining BOM changes are requested, approved, and implemented through the Change Management process.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Suppliers, and Engineering to maintain current product costs.
  • Support the creation of ECOs ensuring the correct parts and/or documents are updated to the correct revision/lifecycle phases.
  • Manage and run ECO review meetings to ensure all involved groups are clear on what is needed for each change.
  • For ECOs with excess/obsolete inventory implications, collaborate with supply planning to manage disposition of E&O inventory.
  • Contribute to process improvement and new process development at each stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Support departmental operations as needed.
  • Infrequent travel to Asia to conduct meetings with factories and/or liaison offices.

What You'll Bring:

  • Familiarity with PLM tools; Propel PLM experience is a plus (operates on Salesforce).
  • Experience in Tableau.
  • Advanced skill set in GSuite and Office365.
  • Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets experience required. Candidates must demonstrate capabilities in this area.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP/ERP practices and principles.
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Be comfortable with questioning ambiguity and driving for clarity.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple on-going projects.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all functional areas within the organization are critical.
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and complete specified task deadlines.
  • Be familiar with best practices governing the product lifecycle of hardware and embedded firmware; consumer electronics experience is a plus.
  • Have experience working with global supply chains and manufacturing networks; Asia-based manufacturing is a plus; Mandarin experience is a plus.
  • Have experience understanding drivers of cost in the development lifecycle; product costing experience is a plus.
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent work experience.
