Summary

This is a Program Analyst (Authorizing Official) position, the primary purpose of this position is to review all claims and supporting documentation to ensure the Claims Office has adequately addressed all eligible losses as required by policy, regulation and/or statute. The incumbent facilitates the implementation and delivery of claim compensation across all covered areas of loss by reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy and consistency with established Claims Office policies.



Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

This position is being hired in compliance with the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act to staff the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office within FEMA.

In this Program Analyst position, you will facilitate the implementation and delivery of claim compensation across all covered areas of loss by reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy and consistency with established Claims Office policies and are responsible for seeking further clarification or answers to questions where the claim documentation and recommendations are unclear or inconsistent.

Typical assignments include:

  • Performing review of complex claims in order to provide compensation to entities that suffered losses from Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon fire.
  • Coordinating across the Claims Office organization to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and clarity of compensation decisions and supporting documentation.
  • Reviewing claimant documentation, damage assessment reports, invoices, restoration plans, and other damage estimates to develop compensation recommendations.
  • Coordinating with federal/state/tribal/county/local entities and agencies; provides technical assistance and analyzes complex claim issues and develops recommendations.
  • Developing technical responses together with other components to document letter of determination findings.

This is a two-year term appointment that is renewable based on workload needs and funding availability.
