Role Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Job Family: Therapeutic Services

Supervisor: Director of ABA Services

Direct Reports: 6-8 full-time registered line technicians and 1 lead registered line technician.

Main Purpose of the Role: The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst is responsible for providing behavior analytic services for 12-15 clients. Services may include but are not limited to discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, additional behavioral supports in the group therapy setting, and parent training. ABA Program Managers are also responsible for staff training and supervision of individuals seeking the BCBA credential.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain productivity measures by providing in-clinic and/or in-school ABA-based programming, plans, and services.
  • Conduct skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments for clients.
  • Develop initial and concurrent individual treatment plan based on the results of appropriate assessments incorporating parental and client goals and preferences.
  • Keep accurate and current records of client response to treatment.
  • Monitor and adjust each client's treatment plan.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork to obtain authorization for services two weeks prior to the initiation of treatment or expiration of previous authorization.
  • Accurately complete all therapeutic, supervision, and billing documentation within 24 hours of service completion.
  • Update and maintain data collection systems and disseminate pertinent information to the team.
  • Assume responsibility for all case-related activity (e.g., comparing programs, anticipating case-related needs).
  • Interact with staff, parents, and clients in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Conduct large and small group parent, caregiver, and community trainings
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress
  • Interview and select Registered Line Technicians (RLT), Advanced RLTs, Lead RLTs, and ABA Volunteers.
  • Provide initial and ongoing education and training to RLTs, Advanced RLTs, Lead RLTs, and ABA Volunteers.
  • Work with all staff to complete necessary paperwork to become a Registered Line Technician through the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board (both initial and ongoing certification) and a Registered Behavior Technician through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (both initial and ongoing).
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff regarding clinical and professional skills.
  • Provide supervision for individuals working towards the BCBA or BCaBA credential after first year of employment (or BCBA Anniversary Date)
  • Attend department staff meetings, program staff meetings, and Facility staff meetings
  • Actively participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintain professional clinical competency by attending continuing education and workshops in the areas of ABA
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Adhere to agency safety policy and procedures
  • Support and supervise clients during leisure activities including lunch and play time.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
  • Abide by the code of ethics as published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment including sanitizing toys, work surfaces, and seats as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
  • Assist in developing strategic and long-range plans for the ABA program and other programs established by The Emerge Center
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Licensed Behavior Analyst or Clinic Director.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Must be able to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
  • Must maintain all required certifications and licenses including, but not limited to: CPR, Licensed Behavior Analyst through the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field
  • Must display extensive knowledge and training in behavior analysis
  • Currently certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board in good standing.
  • Currently licensed as a Louisiana Behavior Analyst with the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board
  • Credentialed as a BCBA supervisor within six months of employment. Currently credentialed as a supervisor is preferred.
  • At least one year of work experience as a BCBA is preferred.
