HOW WILL YOU MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN?

North Highland’s Strategic Proposals Team is a centralized team that provides pursuit and proposal leadership across the competitive bidding/proposal stages for US Public Sector, US Commercial and EMEA Gov’t and Commercial bids. As accredited APMP proposal professionals, we partner with internal industry teams to create winning proposals and oral presentations – including strategy, proposal and pitch development. We apply proposal process rigour, coaching, and mentoring in ways that facilitate business development best practices across North Highland markets. Forming a Centre of Excellence, the SPT partners with the Sales and Practice Organizations to help create professional, differentiated and winning responses to the organization’s most strategic proposals and pursuits.

As the Global Sr. Director of North Highland’s Strategic Proposals Team (SPT), you will lead a team of proposal professionals and ensure an effective and successful end-to-end proposal development process, from ideation to submission, ensuring alignment with this stated vision and our organization's core values and goals. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure best practices and necessary ways of working are in place to provide a seamless, effective RFP response function.

The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset with proven experience as a proposal development leader in both the Public and Commercial Sectors, with ability to demonstrate approaches that drive increased win rates as well as strong content development experience. The Sr. Director will interface with senior leadership and C-suite regularly and serve as the ultimate point of decision-making within SPT to ensure the team has everything they need to deliver quality proposals. Characteristics to ensure success in this role include passion for building world-class proposal capability, enthusiasm for team building and individual development, creativity and organizational aptitude, great attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and a strong ability to influence stakeholders and leaders across all levels and roles.
You’ll be working alongside other changemakers in our firm to elevate brand awareness and engagement through our owned social channels, integrated campaign support, and employee advocacy programs.

YOU WILL:

  • Skilfully lead and develop a team of proposal managers, specialists and writers, fostering collaboration and achieving team objectives.

  • Contribute to lead a successful standardized global proposal process, working closely with internal constituents, to ensure adoption, collaboration, and efficient ways of working.

  • Demonstrate proven success in Proposal Strategy and Development, showcasing expertise in all capture aspects. This includes assessing win probability and opportunity value, developing win strategy and plans, assembling winning teams and solutions, setting competitive pricing strategies, and ensuring adherence to the defined proposal process and schedule.

  • Assess opportunities for AI to improve the end-to-end process, developing the business case for investment and piloting technologies as available.

  • Act as a strategic partner to sales leadership, showing accountability for growth objectives through increased win rates and win/loss insights.

  • Monitor and report on KPIs and team outcomes, delivering actionable insights and improvement plans when necessary.

  • Collaborate effectively and ensure synergies with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to improve proposal quality, streamline processes through standardization, and differentiate from competition.

  • Lead firm wide projects that enhance our selling processes e.g., through our Enterprise Business Agility Program – this may include leading cross-functional teams from the wider business.

IDEALLY, WE’D LIKE:

  • Senior proposal professional, experienced within Gov’t/B2B/Professional Services.

  • Global team management and proposal coaching experience required.

  • Experience establishing or interfacing closely with pricing teams; Ability to ensure strategic pricing is built into each proposal.

  • Shipley and/or Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Certification highly desired.

  • Experience working on multiple client solicitations simultaneously within short timelines.

  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong facilitator.

  • Knowledge of consulting core competencies such as Project Management, Change Management, Process, and Technology knowledge is preferred.

  • Strong Microsoft Suite required, Adobe and Mural skills a plus.

  • Ad hoc travel requirements.
