THE OPPORTUNITY:

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks Part-time Office Assistant for the Nursing Program, to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution. Candidates should also demonstrate sensitivity to issues of diversity and have the ability to motivate and assist students of diverse, ethnic and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, cultures, and learning styles, as well as students with disabilities, or varied levels of academic preparation. The Candidate will be an advocate for access to higher education, particularly for first-generation and immigrant students. The successful candidate will preferably have an understanding and a commitment to the role of community colleges in higher education.

Position Summary/Job Description

Part-Time Office Assistant will be under supervised direction, provides varied clerical and support services to those in need of support in the Nursing Program. Will also participate in special projects, as required/requested.

Part-time staff are authorized to work a maximum of 24 hours a week.
Required/Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma, or equivalent or currently enrolled in college classes towards earning an Associate's Degree and minimum of 1 year of related work experience. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Working knowledge of standard office duties and office equipment required. Computer proficiency required with an emphasis on word processing, spreadsheet, and data management skills. Basic courtesy, tact, confidentiality and diplomacy required regarding interaction with others. Excellent typing, keyboarding, and organization skills required. Must be reliable and responsible. Knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e., WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Email).
