Summary

Under the direction of the Restaurant Manager or Beverage Manager, assists in the management and operation of a food and/or beverage outlet in the Food and Beverage Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages Dining and Beverage Supervisors who, in turn, manage support staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures excellent customer service for every guest, every time. Resolves guest complaints. Interacts with customers as much as possible. Ensures restaurant and employees meet both state and departmental requirements concerning sanitation and personal hygiene. Working knowledge of and execution of policies and procedures in Food and Beverage department. Provides supervision and support for all employees in the department. Ensures that all hiring practices, employee disciplinary actions, and expectations of employees are in accordance with departmental and company policies and procedures. Reviews supply inventory reports and orders necessary items. Verifies validity of casino complimentary slips. Assembles work schedules. Establishes training programs in conjunction with the Manager and administers training. Oversees outlets in the absence of the Manager. Prepares and coordinates the periodic performance evaluations of personnel. Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety and health standards, policies and procedures and follows up to ensure hazards are eliminated. Ensures designated work areas, flatware, glasses, dinner ware and other items used to serve customers are free from hazards (i.e. chips, breaks, liquid on the floor, etc.). Hires and trains Tribal Members consistent with the casino’s Community and Indian Preference guidelines. Maintains work schedule as required by management and also, based upon business needs, making oneself available as necessary. Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with policies and procedures. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate. Keeps Restaurant/Beverage Manager and F&B Manager/Director fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum 5 years high-volume restaurant experience. At least 2 years supervisory experience. POS experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws - Title 4 and/or Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card.

Computer Skills

Must have proficient PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Office applications, POS systems (InfoGenesis preferred), timekeeping/payroll systems (UKG preferred) and inventory/purchasing systems (SWS preferred).

Other Qualifications

Must be able to multitask and handle pressure. Must be a problem solver. Must be outgoing and self-disciplined with initiative and leadership abilities. Must possess good communication skills for dealing with a diverse staff.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to secondary smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
