The position serves as an Auditor in the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Inspector General, Office of Audit.
The Office of Audit conducts financial and performance audits to determine the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of Agency business operations and financial management. Audits assess the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse; the award and management of grants and contracts; management of information technology; and ways to realize cost savings and other efficiencies.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
Supervise, inspire, motivate and coach team members on practices and procedures within their assigned area.
Perform audits and other activities for detection of fraud, waste, and abuse; effectively and efficiently evaluating the work of team members to ensure it meets applicable standards and organizational, legal, regulatory, congressional and public requirements and expectations.
Manage project resources, to include developing statements of work to contract for audit services and monitoring contract performance, as appropriate.
Assess staff performance, as appropriate.
Serve as a senior-level technical resource to provide guidance and consultation on audit policy and procedures within their assigned area, and brief senior leadership and others on assigned work.
Write clear and comprehensive reports on complex or sensitive subject areas in accordance with applicable standards.
