Taiyo Pacific Partners L.P. was founded in 2001 and manages institutional investor capital in public and private equities utilizing a friendly activist strategy. We invest in small-mid cap Japanese and Indian public equity and Japanese private equity.   TPP’s investment philosophy is to find undervalued, quality companies with receptive management that will be open to recommendations from our in-house specialists to increase firm value.

 

 

Responsibilities

Indian equity research directors are involved in research, portfolio management, and engagement related tasks such as the following: industry analysis, fundamental company analysis, meeting with company management frequently, preparing analysis and presentations and then presenting to portfolio company management teams in an effort to convince them to make changes that enhance long-term corporate value.  Directors will have frequent interactions with the Investment Committee members, but will be expected to work with minimal supervision.

Directors will use a variety of methods to analyze companies, including building earnings models, peer analysis, industry analysis, competitive analysis, etc.  Creativity is expected and directors are encouraged to develop unique research methods to use in addition to the rigorous methods that are standard tools of Taiyo.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)

· CFA charterholder preferred

· At least 5 years of experience in a related field of work in the Indian markets (investment research / private equity / consulting / corporate finance / investment banking

· Ability to build detailed financial models

· Strong analytical skills

· Ability to make logical and concise recommendations

· Ability to effectively interact with senior management of portfolio companies

· Ability to work with minimal supervision

· Experience working for a US firm is preferred

· Authorization to work in the United States
