Under the direction of the Experiential Marketing Director, the Entertainment Manager communicates and follows-up with administrative duties for tribal and off-site entertainment events. The Entertainment Manager oversees and supports the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities involving tribal and off-site entertainment events, while supporting the Experiential Marketing Director for Event Center booking and other tribal or off-site entertainment event activities on behalf of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI). The Entertainment Manager performs tasks on special projects and events at off-site worksites.The Entertainment Manager also champions the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribes vision, mission and values.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Processes offer sheets for tribal and off-site entertainment events and event center entertainment. Assists with reviewing contracts for tribal and off-site entertainment events and event center entertainment to recognize and identify potential risks or safety hazards in the contract, which may jeopardize the performance or customer’s safety. Recommends contract changes during the review process and monitors the contract process.
2. Performs research and data analysis for potential talent for tribal and off-site entertainment events and event center entertainment.
3. Works as a liaison with production company for all tribal and off-site entertainment events. At times may also be the liaison with the booking talent company for tribal and off-site entertainments and event center entertainment. Maintains and establishes new relationships with external event vendors, suppliers and partners for effective execution of tribal and off-site entertainment events.
4. Attends tribal and off-site entertainment events to ensure details and rider requirements are met, addresses any issue that may arise and remains on site for a successful event from beginning until the event is over.
5. Oversees the logistics, planning and coordination of tasks, fulfilling rider and administration requirements for tribal and off-site entertainment events. Creates a checklist for each event and makes it accessible to all department employees involved in tribal and off-site entertainment events in order to effectively fulfill the requirements of the contract and rider.
6. Makes recommendations and proposals to the Experiential Marketing Director for upcoming tribal and off-site entertainment events.
7. Oversees cost for tribal and off-site entertainment events, including invoices, payment to vendors and evaluates proposed costs to ensure events are within budget.
8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.Education/Experience/Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related filed is preferred.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in the entertainment industry with contract knowledge or related field is required.
- Minimum three (3) years in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
- Experience in the contract review process required (both standard and complex).
- Demonstrated maturity and poise; ability to employ perfect discretion in sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational and communications skills.
- Must have good knowledge of entertainment event coordination and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills and ability to work well under deadlines is required.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
- Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Must demonstrate a firm grasp on a variety of entertainment and event tactics, and a willingness to try new tactics if they support the business goals.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
