The Impact

Daily and monthly responsibilities - What your days and weeks will include.

State Tax Compliance
Responsible for the preparation, review, and processing of the annual state income tax filings and associated compliance in coordination with our outsourcing partners Primary role on state and local tax audits and notices from state related to state income tax Ensure accuracy of and compliance with tax calendar and internal controls Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state tax developments Provide information and support to business areas Advise on non-routine transactions impacting state filings, including acquisitions and dispositions Prepare, review and approve journal entries Prepare, review and approve General Ledger Reconciliations Assist with state legislative and regulatory initiatives Guaranty Fund compliance Develop a strong working relationship with internal and external clients, including vendor relationships

The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field 3+ years of Corporate Income Tax and/or Accounting experience 3+ years State and Local Income Tax experience

The Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance 5+ years of Corporate Income Tax and/or Accounting experience 5+ years state and local income tax experience Working knowledge and experience related to insurance premium tax a plus Working knowledge and experience related to sales and use tax and/or property tax a plus Strong analytical skills Strong time and project management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions Strong interpersonal skills CPA or MST highly desirable Experience in the insurance industry preferred Strong computer skills, including tax compliance software (Corptax), GL systems (SAP) and research software (CCH)
