Position Summary
Oceaneering knows robotics. As a New Product Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Youâll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and oversee test plan execution, identify defects, and validate product performance. ESSENTIAL
⢠Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new and existing products.
⢠Validate test plans against product requirements to ensure product readiness.
⢠Develop standard testing procedures to be completed on products across various engineering disciplines.
⢠Approve specific test cases tailored to new products.
⢠Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing to identify defects and ensure product reliability.
⢠Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define test requirements and specifications.
⢠Oversee test environment maintenance, including equipment and tools.
⢠Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and work with development teams to resolve them.
⢠Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and quality aspects.
⢠Develop or guide in the automation of test cases where possible to improve efficiency and coverage.
⢠Document test procedures, results, and defects.
⢠Execute field trials.
⢠Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
⢠Bachelorâs degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university (or relevant combination of education and experience).
⢠Demonstrable multidisciplinary skillset (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software).
⢠Minimum 4 yearsâ experience working in an engineering development environment.
⢠Proven experience in product testing.
⢠Expertise in test methodologies, tools, and best practices and the origins thereof.
⢠Knowledge of test theory and mitigation strategies.
⢠Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
⢠Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java).
⢠Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
DESIRED
⢠Functional safety experience.
⢠Controls engineering experience such as implementation of control loops, tuning and troubleshooting.
⢠ISTQB or other relevant certifications.
