Aerospace Test Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Aerospace Test Engineer to join our Mechanical Test Lab. This role focuses on the mechanical evaluation of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts and assemblies, and production parts and assemblies. The successful candidate will support internal customers for research and development projects and contracted programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical evaluations of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, and assemblies.
Verify and evaluate requested tasks with the test requester and schedule them, resolving competing and conflicting needs.
Develop new testing methods and standard processes as necessary.
Report and review test results with the supervisor or manager and communicate findings to the customer.
Coordinate and team with other groups as required.
Basic/Mandatory Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Demonstrated proficiency with the calibration and safe operation of universal mechanical testing equipment.
Proficiency in the analysis of mechanical test data.
Working knowledge of ASTM specifications for mechanical testing of materials, including tensile, shear, torsion, and compression testing.
Ability to develop and document new standard laboratory processes.
Capable of scheduling, de-conflicting, coordinating, and executing multiple technical activities concurrently.
Proficiency in computing within a Windows-based MS Office-suite environment for communication, scheduling, data processing, basic data transfer, and project documentation.
Demonstrated sound writing and verbal communication skills.
Minimum of a BS in Engineering or related Sciences with 2 years of experience, or an MS in the same, with demonstrated interest and experience in hands-on mechanical testing and evaluation of hardware.
Candidates must hold or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security Clearance
