The evolving and transformative role IT can have in the industry in general and Palo Alto Networks in particular as we scale the company for multiproduct security means new opportunities in the way we help transform the business and optimize IT. We are looking to hire the leader of Enterprise Architecture who will closely partner with the CIO leadership team with focus on Architecture, Engineering and Quality Excellence. The leader will partner closely with company and functional strategic teams to ensure an IT strategy that is closely aligned with business strategy.

This position will report directly to the CIO at Palo Alto Networks.

Your Impact

Partner with the CIO, IT Exec staff, and functional leaders on defining/refining the IT Architecture Strategy that will promote nimbleness and drive agility, flexibility and efficiency for IT & business Establish, prioritize, and maintain the overall Enterprise Architecture strategy and approach for Palo Alto Networks, engaging all IT/Digital functions in alignment, co-creation, and on-going partnership Lead an organization responsible to work horizontally across the technology practices to build, maintain and govern the execution of the enterprise blueprints, emerging tech radar and trends, architecture principles, standards, and tools Develop and promote modern architectural approaches that encourage value exchange with partners and customers, digitization of processes, business connectivity, and partner collaboration Frame large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, from current state assessments to the target state with first-principle thinking, and take ownership with technical oversight alongside the delivery team to meet the architectural and engineering outcomes Initiate, champion, and govern Digital platform-centric delivery strategy, scaling use of strategic platforms to deliver new business strategies and capabilities Take ownership for continuously simplifying and optimizing the IT/Technology landscape for the company with focus on nimbleness, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness Drive and own Engineering Excellence with the developer community by evolving the technology delivery process from end-to-end, including use of consistent configurations and tooling, embedded risk assessment and security governance, and reusable and composable architectures Cultivate technical expertise and champion and enable learning, adoption, reskill and reuse across Digital, with focus on scale-ready technologies and approaches, such as DevSecOps, platform-centric delivery, cloud-native approaches, others Drive and own Quality Excellence for IT by establishing the right process, KPI and execution of quality across all the initiatives - The success of the quality program will be measured based on automation, defect density, defect leak and contribution of QA process to the overall delivery velocity improvements Adopt a security-first design that embeds robust authentication, hardened infrastructure and resilient connectivity across Cloud and data center environments

Your Experience

Graduate level degree (Masters) preferred with undergraduate degree required(computer science preferred or equivalent military experience ) Experience in complex enterprises with growing responsibilities highly preferred 10+ years progressive Information Technology experience - 5+ years management and strategy definition/execution experience Strong proficiency with cloud services (e.g. - OpenShift, Azure, AWS), modern JS frameworks (e.g. - React, Angular, NodeJS), SQL and NoSQL DBMS (e.g. - SQL Server, Postgresql, Mysql, Redis, MongoDB), Object oriented development (e.g. - Java, Node.js, Go, Rust or .NET/C#), REST based microservice APIs, DevOps & CI/CD, and COTS (SAP, SalesForce, Steelbrick, etc.) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills Good collaboration skills to work in a matrix structure through influence with the ability to simplify the complexity with elegance Proven experience leading and inspiring a high-performing team to support growth objectives Demonstrated ability of building quick alignment, driving to decisions, influencing without positional power, and collaborating to producing improved outcomes Have a startup personality that is hands on, driven, strategic, accountable, ethical, collaborative, hard-working, and productive

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $250,000/yr to $344,200/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
