Tacoma, United States University of Washington Full time

The University of Washington Tacoma is an anchor institution that is deeply invested in its local communities and in student success. As one of three campuses of a world-class university, UW Tacoma is dedicated to interdisciplinary and innovative teaching and scholarship and to engaging the community in mutually beneficial partnerships. UW Tacoma’s commitment to access and diversity is central to an environment where students, staff, faculty and South Sound residents find abundant opportunities for intellectual, personal and professional growth.

The Office of Community Partnerships has an outstanding opportunity for a DIRECTOR for the Legal Pathways program. The UW Tacoma Legal Pathways Program Director leads the Legal Pathways program, which was launched in 2019 with support from our community partners and funded by the Washington State Legislature, to build and support law-related opportunities for UW Tacoma students. The program seeks to unite students, faculty, staff and the Tacoma community in law-related education, research, events, networking and other programming that prepares students for success in law school and other law-related professions. A priority for this initiative is to contribute to enlarging the pathway into the legal professions for first generation students. The Director will have primary responsibility for leading the program, implementing and assessing outcomes, and overseeing community and campus outreach efforts. The Director will also serve as pre-law advisor for students and work closely with faculty members across campus, as well as manage recruitment and advertising for TLAW 200, assisting in the selection of adjunct faculty to teach it, overseeing course enrollment, advertising the course, and managing Legal Pathways Fellows enrolled in the course. The Director reports to the Assistant Chancellor for Community Partnerships.
